About Brocklesby
Brocklesby lies on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people, who are acknowledged as the region’s First Nations custodians. It is a small farming community in the Riverina region of southern New South Wales, located 55km northwest of Albury. With just over two hundred residents, the town is known for its quiet rural character and strong local spirit. Brocklesby developed in the late 1800s as a stop along a railway line that once played a key role in moving grain from the district, though today it stands mainly as a reminder of the area’s past.

What’s to see?
Brocklesby is known best for the “Miracle of Brocklesby” – the successful landing of two Avro Anson aircrafts that collided midair in 1940 during training exercises. This is preserved in the Blacksmith Park with a replica engine of an Avro Anson and at the Brocklesby Recreation Reserve, featuring an interactive play sculpture of the two aircrafts.
